MAHEC's Center for OB/GYN at Biltmore Campus (Asheville) is now accepting candidates for a full-time, fully benefitted CNA / CMA / CCMA. Medical Assistants work collaboratively as an active member of the interdisciplinary team to provide patient centered care across the continuum. They also provide an excellent patient experience, high quality outcomes, and improved productivity for the team. Responsibilities include participating in daily huddles with patient care teams, preparing patient charts, reviewing patient registries, assisting in preventive care outreach, obtaining vitals, medical records, performing screening procedures, preparing patients for exams, assisting providers, preparing sterile fields, performing phlebotomy and processing specimens, preparing and administering medications and vaccines, serving as a preceptor for new staff, providing coverage support for other MAHEC ambulatory offices, assisting in administrative duties, participating in process improvement, supporting quality initiatives, and community vaccine/testing events. Key competencies include communication skills, decision making, healthcare knowledge, interpersonal skills, organizational values, and problem solving. Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records, phlebotomy experience, and preferred Spanish speaking skills. Physical demands include lifting and carrying 25-35 lbs and pushing/pulling 50-100 lbs frequently. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or GED, with preferred qualifications including an associate’s degree, 1-2 years medical assisting experience, certification as a Medical Assistant, EMT or CNA experience, and experience with Employee Health Records. Current CPR certification is required. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 hours per week, with occasional weekend, holiday, or evening coverage. Compensation is $19.52/hr for CNAs and $20.43/hr for CMAs/CCMAs plus Total Rewards package. MAHEC requires flu vaccination or approved exemption.
