Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney with 3-5 years experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in State and Local Tax Law or Litigation. This role requires legal drafting skills, the ability to litigate effectively, and proficiency in using legal research tools. The attorney will be responsible for providing expert legal state & local tax advice and representing clients against state and federal government agencies. Litigation experience is a plus. Compensation will be based upon experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to clients on a range of tax issues against state and federal government agencies
• Draft and review legal documents to ensure compliance with tax agencies deadlines.
• Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw and other resources to support case strategies and client needs.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice area.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding their matters, providing updates and answering questions as needed.

Skills

• Understanding of State and Local Tax law or Litigation experience.
• Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail in all written communications.
• Proficiency in using legal research tools.
• Exceptional writing skills for preparing legal documents and correspondence.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and state and federal agencies.
• Candidates with a Tax LLM, a plus.
• Candidates with accounting background, a plus.
