Opportunity: Task Force Chief Engineer

This opportunity offers a talented leader the chance to showcase their experience across the HHM Hotels portfolio as a Task Force Chief Engineer. The leader will manage maintenance teams on property and provide both short-term and long-term coverage as needed. The role requires working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, with adaptability to various projects in full service, luxury, select service, extended-stay, and boutique hotels, across industry-leading brands and independent properties. Extensive travel throughout HHM Hotels' portfolio is expected.

Essential Job Functions

1. Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring adherence to brand and hotel standards and HHM core values.
2. Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
3. Manage bids, quotes, and contracts for third-party vendors.
4. Oversee small projects or PIPS, managing and reporting progress.
5. Install or repair drywall and other wall coverings.
6. Paint designated areas and items.
7. Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, and bulbs.
8. Install, replace, and program televisions.
9. Perform minor plumbing repairs.
10. Maintain heating and cooling pumps and perform preventative maintenance.
11. Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
12. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, complete work orders, and keep accurate records.
13. Maintain hotel grounds and exterior appearance.
14. Refurbish, paint, and finish furniture and fixtures as needed.
15. Test and maintain hotel’s life safety systems for full operational status.
16. Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and ensure compliance with service contracts and codes.
17. Focus on guest satisfaction and work toward improving satisfaction scores.
18. Follow sustainability practices per HHM’s EarthView program.
19. Practice safety, wear protective equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
20. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of hospitality management experience.
• Previous Marriott or Hilton experience preferred.
• Ability to stay on-site for coverage as needed.
• High School diploma or trade school coursework preferred.
• Experience or training in engineering/maintenance required.
• Certifications may be required.

Work Environment and Context

• Variable work schedule, including holidays, weekends, or alternate shifts.
• 100% travel across hotels in the United States.
• Requires standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, climbing, and crouching.

The salary range for this role is $85,000.00 to $90,000.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications. HHM Hotels offers a competitive package aligned with market standards, with higher earnings potential for candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience.
