LHH has partnered with a company in South Florida who is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing team. The responsibilities, qualifications, and skills necessary to excel in this role are below.

Responsibilities:

• Daily Accounting Tasks : Handle routine accounting duties such as managing receivables, payables, payroll processing, cash applications, and posting journal entries.
• Financial Record Keeping : Maintain precise financial records for all transactions, including those related to payables, receivables, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Account Reconciliation : Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Team Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams and external partners (both domestic and international) to address and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
• Financial Reporting : Generate detailed monthly financial reports.
• Special Projects : Assist the Financial Controller with various special projects and ad-hoc tasks.
• Operational Analysis : Provide financial and operational analysis to support other departments.

Qualifications:

• Education : A degree in Accounting is preferred, but degrees in Business Administration or Finance are also acceptable.
• Experience : 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, ideally within a small to mid-sized private company in industries such as Shipping, Trucking, or Logistics.
