Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Property Accountant. A well-established real estate investment and property management firm is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to support its growing multi-family residential portfolio. This role is responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial management for a portfolio of multi-family properties.
  • Manage cash flow, including funding requests and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with the accounting setup for newly acquired properties.
  • Prepare and review month-end financials, including adjustments as necessary.
  • Compile monthly financial reports (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Budget Variance, and Executive Summary).
  • Review and analyze AR/AP transactions for accuracy, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting account schedules.
  • Post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments with proper documentation.
  • Support year-end financial preparations for tax and audit purposes.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for ownership and portfolio managers.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience in multi-family property management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (Associate's degree with equivalent experience considered).
  • Yardi experience required
  • Ability to analyze variances and compare actual results to budget or historical data.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong team player with high ethical standards and a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Minimal travel to assigned properties may be required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
