Job Description

We’re partnering with a leading commercial real estate investment and development firm to find a talented Property Accountant to join their team in Plano, TX . This role will support a portfolio of wholly owned commercial properties , providing a great opportunity to focus on core property-level accounting without the complexity of GAAP financial reporting.

📍 Location: On-site in Plano, TX

💼 Employment Type: Full-time

🔑 Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger across multiple accounts (balance sheet and income statement)
• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties
• Handle journal entries , bank reconciliations , and variance analysis
• Collaborate with property management teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Assist with year-end audit support and budget preparation
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies or irregularities

✅ Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–5+ years of experience in commercial real estate accounting
• Strong understanding of GL accounting and account reconciliations
• Experience across multiple GL areas (not limited to cash or A/R)
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Intermediate Excel skills required
• JD Edwards experience a plus
