Part Time Staff Accountant - Catonsville, MD

About the Company and the Part Time Staff Accountant Opportunity:

• CFS is working with a great, repeat non profit client to find a Part Time Staff Accountant to assist during a software implementation for 6 months
• The Staff Accountant will work with a very small and tight knit team on a contract basis
• Schedule: Part time hours between 8:30am-5pm, 20 hours per week in Catonsville, MD. In office Tuesday and Wednesday to start for training
• Reports to the Director of Finance and Senior Accountant (placed by CFS!)
• Ideal start: May 27, 2025

• Reconcile revenue and deferred revenues between Fonteva (Salesforce) software and the general ledger (currently in Great Plains but moving to Sage Intacct)
• Responsible for assisting with month-end close process, including monthly general ledger reconciliations and trial balance account variance analysis
• Upload all AR and revenue activities into the general ledger on a daily basis
• Reconcile banks and general ledger on a timely basis and identify action necessary to resolve differences or corrections
• Responsible for general accounting and related matters, including entering journal entries, amortization schedules, fixed asset depreciation and schedule
• Post monthly payroll entry, related withholdings, and payroll tax expenses
• Provide research and documentation to various departments as needed
• Assist Senior Accountant and Director of Finance with schedules, analysis, and research of audit items (during audit season)
• Assist auditors during fieldwork to provide documentation as requested and address open items as they are identified by the auditors (seasonal)

Qualifications for the Part Time Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required
• 2+ years' full cycle accounting experience
  • Ability to do month end, reconciliations, journal entries, maintain GL
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage Intacct, and/or Salesforce software a plus, but not required
• Strong Excel experience required (ability to work within pivot tables and do lookups)
• Preference will be given to candidates with a non-profit accounting background
• Must be able to pass a background check
