Job Description

The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Marine and Waterfront Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in marine, coastal, and waterfront structural/geotechnical engineering projects. This includes hands-on experience with the inspection, design, rehabilitation, permitting, and construction oversight of bulkheads, piers, marine terminals, fendering and mooring systems, ferry landings, living shorelines, stone revetments, and other port-related infrastructure.

Your Role:
  • Lead the technical aspects of project deliverables, including the preparation of contract drawings, specifications, cost estimates, permit applications, inspection reports, and calculation packages
  • Oversee the structural, coastal, and geotechnical engineering design of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Conduct above-water inspections of marine structures.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, external consultants, government agencies, and internal teams, providing technical guidance and oversight.

Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, or coastal engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Advanced proficiency in industry-standard software, such as SAP2000, RISA 3-D, Revit, AutoCAD, LPile, Optimoor, and Mathcad.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in marine and coastal design and inspection.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (to include Word, Excel, Project) required.

NY Salary: $64,000 - $166,000 dependent on experience.
