Job Description SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced
Heavy Equipment Operator - Field Trainer to join a dynamic team impacting the entire organization! In this pivotal role, you will coordinate, instruct, and manage both classroom and field activities for the Mortenson Registered Apprenticeship Program. As a subject matter expert in the civil curriculum, you will also serve as the primary contact for Operating Group leadership teams involved in the Apprenticeship Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Deliver civil / heavy equipment focused (survey, equipment operations, and similar) NCCER modules, assessments and performance profiles
- Partner with project leadership and project-based instructors to schedule classroom instruction, online assessments and civil focused field evaluations
- Ensure tools, books and other necessary resources are available for all sessions
- Manage, mentor and audit project-based instructors, performance evaluators and proctors
- Manage master training calendar for the Operating Group
- Collaborate with project team to create project training plans including schedules and selection of civil apprentices
- Partner with Apprenticeship Program Manager and HR Coordinator on completion, tracking and storage of required civil documentation
- Utilize effective presentation skills including creative training techniques and adult learning techniques
- Actively participate in civil subject matter review committees with NCCER and other organizations
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
QUALIFICATIONS - Advanced communication, presentation and classroom training facilitation skills
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional methodology
- Licensed, journey or technician-level knowledge and skills in the survey, equipment operations, or similar trade (at least four years)
- Successful completion of NCCER ICTP
- Exposure to OSHA training requirements
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- Current driver's license
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred

The base pay range for this role is $75,000 - $101,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
