University Communication & Marketing (UCAM) is seeking a talented and creative Graphic Design and Multimedia Project Specialist. This is a dynamic and versatile role that combines graphic design expertise, photography/videography and/or animation skills, and project management capabilities. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in creating compelling visual content, managing creative projects, and enhancing the University's brand presence across multiple mediums. With a customer, brand and project-focus, this person will work closely with UNM's marketing team and various University partners to produce a wide range of marketing and visual communication materials that speak to multiple audiences including prospective students, current students, alumni, and others. The selected candidate will be tasked with a range of design and visual media projects—from digital advertisements to printed publications, brand photography to portrait sessions, environmental branding to templates and sub-brand guides. The selected professional may manage entire creative projects—from concept to creation—taking projects from discovery and marketing research to management of printing, installation, or launch. This person will liaise with professionals across the University, including the Director of University Marketing, and will produce highly creative, imaginative materials that reflect and enhance UNM's well-established institutional brand. We are seeking a dependable candidate who excels at self-management and thrives with minimal supervision, thoughtfully prioritizes, while demonstrating a strong sense of ownership over assigned projects. They must have awareness of current visual media and marketing trends, be digitally savvy—and rely on experience and good judgement to problem solve and overcome project obstacles. This position requires strong familiarity with applicable Adobe Creative Suite programs. This individual will report to the University Creative Services Manager and will be co-managed by the Assistant Director of Marketing Communications for Enrollment Management. This role is on-site, situated within UCAM, in a collaborative and creative environment alongside other design, media production, and marketing professionals. University Creative Services at UCAM provides professional graphic design and multimedia services to UNM departments and units. UCAM depends on effective collaboration and idea sharing to deliver innovative and attention-grabbing work. This position will typically work within standard business hours, but some nights and weekends may be required to meet department needs.
