Administers security technology systems by architecting and engineering/developing trusted systems into secure systems. Advises management in developing cybersecurity policies, processes, and procedures. Additional Details This is a remote role, but will require coming on-site once a month and as needed to resolve issues. Must be located in the DC, MD, VA area. Required Skills Demonstrated experience with Palo Alto firewall Demonstrated experience with F5 WAF and/or Illumio Microsegmentation Expertise in TCP/IP fundamentals, IP subnetting, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and network management Experience with point-to-point, VPN, and other WAN connectivity options Bonus Skills Experience with AWS security tools Experience with Proofpoint Gateway (Email Security) Experience with Splunk and Palo Alto SOAR Responsibilities As a Senior Network Security Engineer, you will operate and maintain network security infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations. Responsibilities include overseeing security infrastructure sustainment, maintenance, and advanced configuration of security tools, responding to network issues, performing system maintenance, utilizing monitoring tools, creating automation, participating in on-call rotations, and mentoring other engineers. Essential Functions Support day-to-day security solutions (20%) Support engineering and system administration of cybersecurity solutions (20%) Resolve complex problems and answer routine questions (15%) Identify potential conflicts with cybersecurity implementations (15%) Answer routine questions about cybersecurity solutions (10%) Analyze system logs for anomalies (10%) Collaborate with architects and project managers on security requirements (10%) Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with 5 years relevant IT security experience, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
