Job Description

Actively seeking a Benefits Manager for a HYBRID and Full-Time Position within a Law Firm . The manager needs to have experience within a Law or Professional Services Firm, with strong background in Benefits, Third-Party System Administration, Oversight of Open Enrollment, Retirement Benefits, and requires 7+ years of experience in Benefits.

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST

SCHEDULE | LOCATION: HYBRID | New York

PAY: $140 - $160K (Commensurate w/Experience & Location) + Discretionary Bonus

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree REQUIRED
• 7-10+ years of Benefits Experience; Leadership of Junior Benefits Members a MUST
• Strong MS Office Suite Experience; Proficiency in Excel REQUIRED
• Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
• Experience working on System Upgrades is PREFERRED
• CEBS Designation is a PLUS

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the administration of employee benefits in all of the firm’s operations.
• Administer employee benefit programs such as retirement plans, disability claim administration, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
• Survey the legal industry to determine the firm’s competitive position in employee benefits through market data analysis and firm wide surveys.
• Monitor cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to the firm and employee.
• Ensure effective communications of benefit programs for new lawyers and staff.
• Monitor the benefits-related components in the firms HRIS system (Workday)
• Oversee the annual audit and nondiscrimination testing processes.
• Act as the primary liaison between the pension actuary, 401(k) record keeper and the plan’s trustee and auditors.
• Oversee all government filings (5500, etc.) for retirement plans
• Manage overall 401(k) plan design, in coordination with ERISA counsel.
• Assist with ad hoc projects, reports, and other tasks as needed.
